I jsit [sic] killed my whole family, and i couldnt have done it without a gun! I’m too much of a coward, a knife would have been waaay [sic] too hard. So, thanks to everyone at the NRA,
The day after Christmas, Kevin Heimsoth shot dead his cat, dog and wife. He admitted it in a tweet (see below) to the National Rifle Association (NRA).
He expressed his gratitude to the NRA for fighting for the right to bear arms under the US constitution and prevent restrictions on the public buying automatic military style weapons because they make killing people and animals so much easier.
Kevin used an AR-15 to kill them all. This is a lightweight semi-automatic rifle. Yes, it would have been easy and quick if you don’t think about it too much.
He said that he was too much of a coward to knife his family to death. He wheeled out that tired old mantra that the NRA use: that guns don’t kill people, people do. Helpfully, though, he admits guns make it so much easier.
Thanks for that useful admission. I couldn’t have put it better myself. Kevin also tweeted the president and Senator Mitch McConnell. I’ll guess and say that he tweeted them because they support no change in gun ownership.
Kevin then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide. Note: strictly speaking this is still an allegation because the police have not completed their investigations as I understand it but he’s admitted it.
A person commenting on the tweet wrote:
Tragic! 💔 The left will go to any extreme to prove a point. They are crazy people.
Is this taking the mickey? It looks like it. It’s the right and far right who love their guns. The tweet is still online. It’ll will be deleted which is why I created a screenshot of it.
This is probably an example of domestic antagnoism at Christmas (commonplace) leading to domestic violence leading to the ultimate form of domestic and animal violence.
I don’t mind if people shoot people provided the innocent are unharmed, namely children and animals. It is the loss of the cat and dog which irks me the most.
P.S. This is an opinion article as much as a report on the news, please note I am one of those who hates the ancient right to bear arms in the modern age. Back in those days it made sense. Nowadays it puts America way out in front for gun related deaths in high income countries.
