MILO IS DOING GREAT!!

by Darlene Burrow
(Fond du Lac, WI)

Hello everyone. Hope all of you are doing well. Milo and I moved to Fond du Lac, WI on the last day of March. Thanks for your advice on preparing for the big move.

Milo did great on the ride to Fond du Lac. I am very impressed with her. When we moved all my stuff into my new apartment Milo was scared. She hid in the bathroom behind the toilet for a couple of hours but after my helpers who moved my things into my apartment (who was my dad and my brother Wally), after they left Milo came out and explored the new apartment.

Milo on the first night at our new home she jumped into bed with me. Milo has adjusted very well. I am so very proud of her. Milo trusts me so much and I think she knows that we can do anything in the world as long as we have one another

Milo loves to watch the birds in the yard. There is a big tree in the yard with a bird feeder hanging down from the tree branch. She loves to watch the birds eat.

She watches the birds from my living room near my sliding door and she also watches the birds from my bedroom window too. I think she knows this is her new home and she is loving where she is living.

I know I truly love my new apartment. It’s bigger than my last apartment and where I am at it’s so peacefully and I feel more at home here.

I even have an in-ground swimming pool in the backyard. My neighbors seem to be very nice too and I am much closer to my dad’s side of the family!

Milo and I are doing great!

Darlene

May 01, 2012 Something fun to do in Fond du Lac NEW
by: Ruth (Monty’s Mom)

Darlene,
I found out about a concert in Fond du Lac on Friday, May 4th. It’s a handbell concert, the Alleluia Ringers, from Concordia University. They will be at Church of our Savior at 7:30 p.m. Sorry, I don’t know where that is, just that it’s in Fond du Lac. I don’t know if the concert is free or if you have to pay. You could look it up in the phone book for the address, and you could call the church for more information. Handbell music is very relaxing, just hauntingly beautiful. Too bad Milo can’t go with you! I think he would like it too. Monty likes music if it has lots of arpeggios– rolling chords. He’s not as into it if the notes of the chords are played all at the same time. A cat named Zach, whom I used to cat sit for, felt the same way. He’d sit behind me and purr when I practiced songs with arpeggios on the piano. Handbell music is played by a bunch of people each holding two bells, arranged from tiny little bells to great big ones. Each person plays his or her bell(s) at just the right time to keep the music going.

Honestly, I know it isn’t about cats, but I think you’d enjoy the Alleluia Ringers. They’ve played in Germany before and are famous as one of the best handbell choirs in the world. When I was in college I’d hear them every chance I got because I’d never heard anything so amazing. I hope you have a good time if you go. If not, just know that every time I hear about Fond du Lac I think of you and Milo. I’m glad you two are doing well. Monty says hi also!

I meant to comment earlier, but I was very busy with work for a little while. Last weekend we drove up north to see my husband’s family and we drove right through Fond du Lac and I thought of you and Milo! I’m so glad you and Milo are happy. I know West Bend will always be your home town, but I think Fond du Lac is nicer. My husband and I looked at houses there when we were first married. I’m glad to hear you have a swimming pool now. I’ll bet you can’t wait to try it out! No pool at our house– I like to drive up to Harrington Beach and swim in Lake Michigan. Water temps still in the 40’s– I guess I have to wait too! Good luck to you and Milo in your new home!

Hello Darlene, how nice to hear from you again.
I’m so pleased your move went smoothly and that you and Milo are both happily settled in your new home.
They say dogs remember faces and cats remember places but I’m not so sure that’s right because if you have a loving relationship with your cat they are happy to be where you are.
