Missy Taming Feral Cats

Missy – taming feral cats..We started feeding a pack of ferals several winters ago. Our 5 year-old cat was the kitten of a young feral who wandered into our garage one day. We hand fed him for a few weeks until he was big enough to eat on his own and he has been king of the house since then. When he was about 6 months old his mother had another litter in a neighbors boat and left them. The neighbor brought them to us and we raised them until they were old enough to find homes.
A couple years later one of the cats showed up here hurt. I spent hours on the phone trying to find someone to help this cat, no one wanted anything to do with a feral. We ended up nursing Socks back to health and finding a home for him. By now all of them had names.
By this time we started trying to tame the kittens. It turned out to be a lot harder than we thought. Last year I thought we had tamed one that was about a year old. Lucky was living in the garage. Unfortunately, she went back to the woods to have her kittens. I can pet 2 of the 4 from that litter and 1, Missy, is laying next to me right now expecting any day now. I hope to find her and the kittens homes. At least this litter will not live in the woods near our house with the pack.
