This is another one of those extraordinary interspecies relationship and in this instance a mother hen is incubating three kittens just as if they were her eggs. It’s quite remarkable to see. The hen is completely unfazed by it. As the female of one species so often raises the offspring of another species, it seems to me to be entirely normal and these mothers can quickly adapt to raising young which are not their own and neither are they of her species. I think it tells us something about the world and animals. There is this goodness in it. Of course, humans do this as well all the time. But we should give credit to animals as sentiment beings often with an intelligence that we do not give them credit for.
