My Cat Was Bitten By A Dog

My Cat Was Bitten By A Dog

by Debbie Jones

My cat Jess was bitten by a dog and has a tear in her muscle underneath her belly. Can this repair itself or does she need an operation?

Hi… thanks for visiting and asking. Sorry but common sense says that you really should take your cat to the vet.

The wound may become infected and that may kill your cat. There may be damage to your cat that you can’t see. There may be internal injuries for example. There are a multitude of possibilities and these need to be checked out by a good vet.

I know vets are expensive etc. and I know the whole thing can be distressing and so on but there are times when we have to go to the vet and this is definitely one of those times.

Please go immediately.

Good Luck to you both.

The muscles will repair themselves to a certain extent in time provided the necessary veterinary work has been carried out to prevent infection and repair the injury.

Debbie I agree with Michael, you must take your cat to a vet as soon as possible for treatment.
