Back this summer while at work this little malnourished kitten showed up out of nowhere. She wasn’t aggressive or afraid of people, she walked right up to you.
Now I personally have been afraid of all animals because a family friend’s dog wanted to play with me when I was a kid and I didn’t understand so I ran. I ran into the driveway with shorts on and tripped over my feet. I fell down doing a split and messed up my legs, so for years animals were far from my mind.
Now I’m 25 years old and this cat became attached to me at work. During the summer she would come out and sit under my car when I came to work. So I moved my car and she would go and sit back under the car after I moved it. Also when I would go outside she would follow me from a distance where ever I went.
Here in NC it’s the middle of October and its getting cold outside. This cat has really helped me deal with the past incident. Although I’m still not completely comfortable holding her and cuddling, I do groom her and rub her head. I decided after hearing about a client at work kicking her to take her home. She came home with me on the 8th of October and my family has fallen in love with Khloe.
I can’t believe that this is a stray or feral cat, she is so calm and happy. Loves kids and everything. I took her to the Vet and they loved her too!! She got her rabbies shot and will be getting fixed on Oct. 20. She isn’t destructive, she plays with her toys and eats her food. She is very prissy so she grooms herself and uses the litter box.
Since my decision was a quick one, my home isn’t quite cat proof right now, so she is in the big spacious laundry room and loves it. Since being seen and cleared at the Vet she has walked through the house being very curious, but has retreated back to the Laundry room. The Doctor told me that she was only about 6 or 7 months old, so it was a good time to get her fixed.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I’m thankful that I’ve been able to care for her. I was even blessed at the Vet with a major discount for the Fixing procedure and free flea solution, and a great brand of cat food. Khloe is content now eating and sleeping all the time in a clean warm environment and growing everyday!!!
Thank You Jesus for trusting me with this precious Animal!
