A stated this is personal but I expect something similar from any decent cat caregiver. There has to be some cons if we are realistic. For me, right now, the biggest con is that I feel anchored. Stuck and unable to travel freely because my cat is bonded to me; I am imprinted on his brain as his mother and I know that because I raised him from a little kitten. And because I am very soft and concerned about animal welfare, I can’t leave him in a boarding cattery and I can’t leave him with a cat sitter. So, I have to take him with me which is fine but mightily complicated 😎. It is a struggle figuring out how to travel with him while making the travelling acceptable.
You’ll see lots of stories on the internet of cat caregivers hiking with their cat and being tourists in Rome or some other exotic place while carrying their cat on their shoulder or in one of those fancy cat carrier backpacks BUT is it realistic and practical? I think not. Very few people will do this for the obvious reason that it is complicated and fraught with potential cat welfare problems.
I am moaning, complaining. Here is the infographic. I thought of these pros and cons very quickly. They are not thought through. Just instinctive thoughts. I have limited them to some essentials. There are other pros and cons. Please share yours if you have time. Comments are always welcome.
