The Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania asked for help back in September to report information regarding the death of a long-haired calico cat who was found on September 14 off of Casler Road in Amity Township at the State Game Lands 162.

The cat was shot while inside the carrier and the necropsy showed he died from two gunshot wounds. The owner, who was found via microchip information that traced him back to the City of Erie, stated the cat had gone missing around four days earlier. The owner isn’t a suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Chief Humane Officer Lisa Stiles at 814-835-8360.

Although no mention is made of a reward, please post any updates to the comment section and I’ll add it to the article as an update.

For those not aware, a necropsy is the examination of an animal after death. The purpose of a necropsy is typical to determine the cause of death, or extent of disease. This involves a careful process of dissection, observation, interpretation, and documentation.

  1. Take your neighbors damn straying pets to AC if you have reached an impasse over the lousy guardians behaviors. Destroying the animal is punishing the innocent. I’d like to see someone caught here and do about 10 years.

    • I’d like to see someone like Alley Cat Allies post a reward. Money may or may not make someone talk but it’s worth a try.

      • I’d like to know when it became acceptable to assassinate a stray animal or your a## hole neighbors neglected animals.
This is to the cat haters out there.
When you kill your neighbors free roam cat you are only hurting the animal. Lousy pet owners simply replace and repeat. On the other hand there is the danger of killing someone’s pet who has gotten out and being looked for. In which case you are going to eventually meet the guardian who will tear your life apart.
Managed cat colonies actually help keep more stray cats from moving into your neighborhood. Instead of hating help.
Unless of course your whole game is just about killing something to try and satisfy some deep inner hatred in your own life in which case again eventually you’re going to run into the guardian that is going to shred your life.
