Little Buddy

Hi all

I stumbled across this site today while looking for a way to identify our new kittens' breed and was hoping I could get a little help?

I'm hoping to get some better pictures to you at some point but I've uploaded the 4 best one's i have for now, i hope they're ok.

Anyway, little 'Buddy' here is about 5 months old now and the Mrs and I are really stumped as to his breed. He is a very light cream/beige color with faint (darker) stripes all over his body which seem to be becoming more apparent over time.

He has dark ears and tail with a dark patch on his face. His eyes are REALLY bright blue but in bright lights the middle (iris?) looks dark red as opposed to black, something which I've never noticed in out other cats.

Lastly his meow is different to any other cat I've had, it's really whiny like someone on helium rather than a cat and he makes many other odd sounds also.

If anyone can shed any light on this we'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance

He definately looks like a blue snowshoe kitten. Google the breed and see for yourself!

I agree, he is an adorable kitten. And when he grows up he'll still be good looking, although maybe a bit like a bandit with that mask. Congrats with a very special cat. 😉

Every time I see a kitten/s or pictures of them I think "this one is the cuttest of them all" and then I see another ... Well Little Buddy is so cute he looks like a cuddly stuffed cat. I've not seen one like him before but he is lovely.

I beleive he probaly has some Burmese in him. They are known as the white gloved cats, since they usually have 4 white feet. Also they tend to have the masks like a masked breed. My cat Sammy was marked similar to your kitty. He was a daddy to some kittens, my Beloved Lia is one of his sons. He had a kitten who was exactally like a Burmese. I beleive they have long hair. Another breed to consider is the Snowshoe Siamese. They too have white paws and the same coloring as your kitty. Whatever he is it doesnt matter all cats are purebred in my book. My Lia is only half Bengal but I still consider him a Bengal. He has some Burmese in him also from his dad. But his mother was a full blooded Bengal whos grandfather was a champion. My Lia is a champion to me since I got him back a year and a half ago. He has become so close to me its like he was never gone for those 5 years. I thank God everyday for giving him back to me. I also thank God for my other two cats, one who is my old Midnight brought back to me in a spirit cat. We also share our family with a Savannah who is the silliest cat you could ever see. She is a purebreed with papers to prove it but shes just our little baby.

Hi Ads..thanks for visiting and asking.

I think Buddy is a mixed breed cat, but nearly a purebred cat.

He seems to be a champagne Burmese (warm honey beige) that has been altered by the presence of the piebald or white spotting gene that has produced the Snowshoe style feet and white areas on the extremities.

So, my guess is that he is a half Burmese cat or Burmese mix as the adverts call cats that are close to but not quite purebred.

All that said..Buddy is fantastic, sweet and adorable.

Someone else can answer this better than me perhaps.
