New Zealand: rise in animal abuse with example — 14 Comments

  1. Michael, I had previously blocked this from my brain. my sorry-butt mistake. What has happened with this, to get this idiot to feel remorse for such a brutal assault?

  2. This just hit me tonight. Needs more attention. The alleged criminal is not vindicated. No remorse, it seems. Do you have an update that I missed? TIA -Cal

  3. “The teenager who says he fired the crossbow that went through Moo Moo the cat’s skull told police he wasn’t aiming at him.

Moo Moo had an extraordinarily lucky escape from death after the crossbow went through his skull, entering just above his eye and going right through, miraculously missing his brain.

Wellington police spokesman Nick Bohm says an 18-year-old Wainuiomata man has turned himself in to police, who have subsequently seized a crossbow along with other items.

“During his interview his explanation was that the cat walked into the path of the crossbow,” Mr Bohm told NZ Newswire.

Police have yet to decide what charges should be laid, if any, but have been in touch with the SPCA.”

So, according to your reasoning, if a cat jumps out in front of a car then the driver should be convicted and fined for hitting that cat? If the driver dies in a crash trying to avoid hitting that cat, then can his family sue you for everything you are worth for letting your cat run free? It’s one or the other. Which would you prefer have happen? Mind you, both scenarios are the DIRECT FAULT of the person who let the cat roam free. Make no mistake about that.

Where did that idea from? I certainly did not state or imply that.

The teenager says that the cat walked into the path of the bolt. Don’t you think that is a little farfetched and convenient? My initial reaction is that he is lying. Assuming the cat was walking or sitting on the ground what was the kid aiming at on the ground before the cat walked into the area? A muddy patch of grass?! It does not stack up does it?

    • “Entertainment today?” btw, must be fun to be you and have no convictions in your faricking chosen career, hmm? Identify yourself. And then I will get some -not much- from deriding you, moneymonger.

  4. Update: an 18 year-old man has admitted to shooting the crossbow bolt. It seems he did it deliberately but we are waiting to see if he will be charged and prosecuted.
