Our Large Cat Mickey

Mickey reaching for food.

Hi. We have a cat named Mickey. He weighs 25-26 pounds, 37-38 inches long, has huge paws, broad shoulders, long whiskers, has a M on his forehead,

He is very loving, we taught him to give "kisses".

We found him when he was only a few weeks old, so we had to bottle feed him. He's our baby. I would love to send some pics if you are interested.

My email is jwetzel9@live.com. Thank you for your time.

Jill

Hi Jill, I have contacted you via email so you can send some more pics. Mickey is massive! Not many cats can reach up to the kitchen counter. Mine can't even jump to it! Mickey is very much at the top end of the scale for domestic cat weight and size, up there with the f2 Savannah cats etc.

Apr 17, 2010 wow that looks just like my cat !!!
by: Cyrena

I got my cat from the pound, he was a victim of a divorced family, and my husband loves big cats. So we ended up adopting him, our cat is a ragdoll and the resemblence is uncanny. Our cat weighs around 20 lbs., he is very affectiate. They are like big babies. You have a beautiful baby.

Now He's what our Presidents wife is talking about! His breed is from Wall Sreet, I've seem them on t.v. On the Letterman show; He's called a "Bankers cat",or an "F.C. Breed".
I pray "Mickey lives long and prospers!"I'm impressed! "His brother plays B-ball,'SHaq'."
Thanks for
for the 'fun' posting. He's beautiful!

Sorry Jill, I did not mean to be rude. The subject of weight is not controversial where I come from, but I understand that others see it differently, so I always weigh my words carefully. I thought I did just that, but apparently not enough.
Some years ago I lost the best cat I ever had to diabetes and liver failure. He was just nine and would have lived for much longer if I had managed to keep his weight down in time.
Whether a diet is needed can of course not be judged from pictures alone, but I comment on what I see and do so with the best of intentions.
p.s. I have enjoyed every pic all the same.

Jill, I don't think Finn is being rude, sorry. He is simply making a polite point and trying to be helpful. Mickey is a great boy cat and he has given us a lot of enjoyment.

If you read about the savannah cats they don't need to go on a diet, they are just big cats.I could care less if he is a savannah cat or not or whatever,I thought people would enjoy looking at pics of a large cat!!!! Please keep your rude comments to yourself, so everyone else can enjoy these pics of Mickey..

Sorry, forgot to fill in my name...

Hi Jill. Well, actually Michael didn't suggest your Mickey being an f2 Savannah - he was just comparing the size. But whatever he is, he's very impressive and no doubt a very special character. Funny how he enjoys water and bathing. 😉

But (as I also told Gennise & Loren's Wolfie), maybe Mickey should consider going on a diet. I know how hard it is practicing this with more than one cat in the house, but it will keep him healthy for many more years. He deserves it.

Thank you for commenting and checking out micks pics. He just turned 6 years old on Oct. 1st. The picture of Mickey in the sink was when he was only 2 or 3 years old. Now he can't even fit in our kitchen or bathroom sinks. He loves taking baths in the bathtub. This boy is not water shy at all. He is a very lovable cat. You should check out savannah cats and read how big and beautiful these cats are. Michael suggest Mickey could be a f2 savannah cat. Thanks again and check for more pics soon.

Oct 06, 2009 That's what I call a real cat
by: Finn Frode, Denmark

Hi Jill. Sorry for questioning your big boy - now there's no doubt about it, Mickey is indeed a huge cat.
Also he is what I call "a real cat", because when I was a boy most cats in the countryside of Denmark were brown tabbys - although smaller.
For a boy his head is not that wide, so there must be more Continental than British shorthair cats in his roots. Illinois has descendants of a lot of Scandinavians, and maybe some of them brought along their cats, I don't know. 😉
How old is he?

He is huge - I wonder what was in that bottle, when he was small? 😉
Still I would like to see a couple more picture to be certain this isn't photoshopped.

My Bengal Mix is 18 lbs. He is not quite as tall as your cat on his hind legs but almost. He is very muscular. Your cat is very beautiful. I know since you hand fed him you are very close to him.
