Here are the latest posts. And below is a list of categories and below that some randomly selected tags. I hope the site is useful. This site is getting on for 20 years of age. That is ancient in website terms.

And because websites are fluid media with the opportunity to change them at will (unlike a book of film) they must evolve over this extended time span.

This is because content dries up and the world changes. Expectations change. Tech changes etc. The first problem with content sites is that there is a limit to the amount of content one can write on a single topic. Where do you go from there?

Secondly, the internet is constantly evolving in line with the world generally and AI has decimated content websites. It has stolen all the information and presents itself as the curator and archivist of all this massive internet data. Where does that leave us?

Well for me it resulted in using AI as a partner in writing about a wide range of topics which INDIRECTLY affects cat caregiving.

As I say, anything that affects us affects our cats as domestic cats live in our world and are dependent on us for all of life’s necessities. We are their surrogate ‘mom’s to use an American term.

This is why almost all of today’s articles and op-eds are about stories not directly concerning cats. I hope you can indulge me. It is the only way I can continue to build this site.

The alternative is to archive it for posterity and add no more. That moment will arrive but not quite yet.

We are the guardians of the planet and all the animals supported by it. I think it fair to say that we are doing a poor job. Humans are very human-centric and self-indulgent. Animals are vulnerable. Extinctions are on the rise. Conservationists are behind the curve.
