This is an example in Texas of the unregulated ownership of big cats in America, particularly Texas, where they sometimes escape causing mayhem in the neighbourhood and resulting in residents coming out of their homes with guns at the ready when they would be far wiser to stay in doors and contact the authorities.
Carole Baskin has campaigned for years to introduce legislation to far better control the ownership of large exotic animals like big cats, particularly tigers, which is long overdue.
