This is a follow-up post to one that I wrote earlier. It was reported that Pete Doherty’s two Huskies killed Archie a cat belonging to Penny Ward. It was also reported that Pete Doherty did not apologise and no further action was taken. It was decided that a crime had not taken place. Although in my view Penny has the right to claim compensation in the civil courts for negligence as the cat was allegedly taken from her garden by the dogs.
Famous rocker fails to apologise for his dogs’ attack on cat and no crime committed
The Sun reports that Pete Doherty has now visited Penny at her basement flat. He asked her: “It was still twitching – did you not take it to the vet?”. It appears that he only took this action after a huge amount of online publicity about the attack.
He then asked her whether she would like to meet his two Huskies to see how nice they were. We are told that he has not apologised to Penny for the savaging of her cat by his two off-lead Siberian hunting dogs.
Interestingly, it has been revealed that he had placed his two cats in a shelter to prevent his dogs attacking them.
A passerby, Kieron Woodward, 27, tried to stop the dogs killing Archie. He said that the cat was still moving but could only open and close his mouth before he passed away.
That concludes the update. It is very surprising that Pete Doherty has yet to apologise even though he has visited Archie’s owner. Doherty is the front man for the Libertines and the well-known rockstar and drug taker.
I can remember some years ago him smoking, I think it was cannabis, with his cat and putting his cigarette near the cat to check how it affected the animal. He was obviously careless around animals then and still maintains that behaviour.
I fail to understand how two at large dogs can take another pet out of it’s yard kill it and there is no repercussion for the owner. I mean WTF.
I feel the same. It’ll be assessed as an accident in terms of criminal behavior but that’s wrong because the law is wrong, I am afraid, in the UK. In civil law she has a claim.
This ridiculous fool has a long history of exploiting animals. There is footage online of him smoking crack and blowing the smoke over two tiny tuxedo kittens. Also footage online of him and Amy Winehouse mauling naked new born mice for their own inebriated entertainment.
He is the very worst type of narcissistic hedonist, he should be kept away from all living beings.
My empathy is with Penny and poor Archie.
Docherty has always been a talent free bully, thankfully his career is failing.
