As most of the PoC regulars will know, Ruth aka Kattaddorra needs you to sign a petition to help ban the barbaric declawing of cats in the USA. If you haven't done so already, you can find it at:

Help us to ban the barbaric declawing of cats in the USA

This cause needs all the support it can get, so I've photoshopped a banner linking to it. Those of you with your own websites can do a little extra by including this banner in one of the pages of your site. You can do it by pasting the following code into any page of your site (the page where the HTML is stored). If you have a Google Blogger blog it can be dropped in very easily (but not in comments).

The above image will be presented and by clicking on the image you will be taken to the petition.

Just copy and paste the following code and away you go:

When this code is included in a web page it looks like this:

You can test it by clicking on the image. The code is written in a way that means visitors stay on the website and a new page is opened for the petition.

Hope this works for you. 😉

Update 2011 Ruth's successful original petition was lost because the hosting website closed unannounced.

You still vote on a new form that I created and which will never be deleted. The code has been changed so you go to this new petition form....Michael

Sorry to have taken so long to update this page. I had forgotten about it.

I have added fresh code so if people want to have a say they will be taken to a new petition that is exclusively Ruth's and it is hosted by Google and will never be deleted as the previous one was.

Here's another petition to help stop declawing:

by: Finn Frode, Denmark

As an earlier reply says - the banner doesn't work anymore.
I very much doubt the so-called 'Phoebe Trevascus' has put the banner into her blog and shared it between her friends. 'She' only came here to spam the URL of a totally irrelevant website.
Feel free to tell su*****@be***********.com what you think of them...

Feb 05, 2011 Petition server is down
by: Finn Frode, Denmark

Unfortunately it seems the server hosting Ruth's petition is down at the moment. I don't know what's happening, but hopefully it will get up and running again soon.

Finn and Michael you are two stars !
Thanks too to everyone planning to use the banner.
It's very eye catching and I'm sure it will bring us lots more signatures onto our petition.

I won't be updating my Web site until later this month, but when I do I'll definitely put this on there... I'll even feature it on my homepage!

Feb 14, 2010 Very Cool

Thanks for this incredible tool to get more signatures. I'll add to my websites as well as pass it along. The image still makes me physically ill every time I see this helpless animal with dismembered body parts. May the suffering end soon.

Feb 14, 2010 Thanks

Thanks a lot to Michael for his ideas in the creation of the banner and also his help in getting the coded stuff up on this page. 🙂
