Photo of person accused of filming himself killing kittens

This is a photograph of the young man who is accused of torturing and killing kittens while allowing accomplices to film him on a camcorder.

This double kitten killing (I believe it was 2 kittens) is perhaps the single most notorious act of cat cruelty on the internet. It is certainly highly notorious and I wrote about it quite a long time ago (note: there are no grizzly videos to avoid seeing).

I say he is “accused” of this act of barbarism because I am not completely sure he is the person but a recent comment by Phil on PoC told me that he is:

The Wikipedia webpage states (in relation to the kitten killings):

He was previously sought by animal rights groups for allegedly uploading videos of himself killing kittens.

That single line indicates he is identified as the person. The source of that information is stated as being: Mark Kelley (November 30, 2012). “Hunting Magnotta”. The Fifth Estate. Season 38. Episode 12. CBC. The link to the page is broken.

Secret online investigators tracked him down over 2 years. The video of that investigation is “currently unavailable”. This might be because, as I understand it, the trial of Magnotta is about to start. This is a screenshot of the video on CBC Player:

Wikipedia also states that he changed his given name from Eric Clinton Kirk Newman to Luka Rocco Magnotta. He seems to be obsessed with the mafia.

A still photo from the video which was deleted soon after being published does closely resemble him (except for hair length – look at the mouth which I think is the giveaway):

Magnotta is a paranoid schizophrenic and former porn actor. Following his alleged torture of the kittens he is accused of killing and dismembering Lin Jun a Chinese student and sending body parts to schools. There is a video of him stabbing and having sex with Jun’s dismembered corpse.

Proof that abusing animals – and cats are prime targets – often leads to violence on people.
