There was the famous guy who brought his cat across the sea to Greece on his way from Syria to Germany. There was a lot of news about that. It was wonderful to see but we have to be a bit cautious about what the press throw at us. It is not always as straightforward as it appears.
That said there appears to be a good number of refugees who understandably cannot migrate to Europe while leaving their beloved companion cat or dog behind. This is something that we will completely understand. It would be impossible for me to leave my cat behind. However, even that statement must depend on how severe circumstances are.
Here are some more pictures of refugees and their cat companions that they carried with them on their arduous and tretcherous journey to a better life in Northern Europe. Nearly all will not stop to settle in countries in Eastern Europe like Hungary where they are unwelcome or Croatia. They seek the best options in Northern Europe (richer countries): Germany, France or the UK.
