Picture of cat before rescue from garbage chute. Believed someone pushed him down.

This is a cat rescue story from Little Wanderers, a successful cat rescue organisation in New York City. They have a very high quality Instagram page where they have a large number of followers and also where they promote their organisation and fundraise. The story concerns a silver tabby, male cat who in the rescue’s words, “found himself inside a filthy garbage chute in the Bronx NY”.

They believe that he was pushed down the chute intentionally because there was no way to get inside the trash compactor room without a key as the door is always locked. It looks like somebody opened the door chucked him down the chute and locked the door after themselves. They’re not sure that but all the evidence points to it.

The tragic part, they say, is that Lovebug is a great cat. He is a true lover and he’s not scared of people or other animals despite his experience.

Little Wanderers posted their information about this cat on April 15 and at that time he was scheduled to be vetted on April 16 and then they would search for a new home for him. He was rescued by Serena:

It’s just another little cat rescue story. There are many thousands of them every day. It tells the usual tale, though. There’s always someone, somewhere who has the potential to be cruel to cats and other animals. Rescue organisations like Little Wanderers often pick up the pieces. They are the good guys who are in constant conflict with the baddies.
