Picture of Ricky Gervais and his cat Ollie
This is a picture of Ricky Gervais and his cat Ollie. I believe it was taken by his partner Jane Fallon. Ollie passed at the age of 16 on March 10th 2020. Gervais is heartbroken.

Here is another version – slightly improved, I’d say:
It is a good age for a domestic cat. He said:
Just had to say goodbye to the sweetest little soul I’ve ever known. RIP Ollie…My heart is broken in two. I have no idea what I’m going to do without her by my side. #Ollie.
Ricky is a great cat lover and I presume an animal lover and advocate which puts him on a pedestal for me. He does a lot of good for animal welfare. He publicly denounced cat declawing in the US for instance. And he has lambasted trophy hunters. I destest these forms of human activity as much as he does.
I think they use an instant camera (like a modern version of the Polaroid camera) for their photography and then scan the photos to digital format for uploading to the internet. This is because the quality is very distinctly untypical of modern digital cameras.
Ricky Gervais lambastes trophy hunters trying to justify their behavior
The one on this page is charming and tells us how strong the bond between them was. Ollie’s head is resting on what appears to be a cat comb. I bet he liked being groomed with it. I feel sad about this news. A lot of his fans will feel the same way.
One last point: Ollie was a Siamese-mix cat. In other words he had the Siamese gene but also the piebald gene which produced the ‘socks’. That’s my assessment. He was probably a rescue cat.

Rickys social media message in thanks.
For those who are not sure who he is (not many in that category), Gervais is ‘an English stand-up comedian, actor, writer, film producer, director, and musician. He is perhaps best known for co-creating, writing, and acting in the British television series The Office.’ – Wikipedia.
