Picture of ‘The Shining Cat’
I am being quite flippant in publishing this photograph on this page because behind the picture of a cat who looks a bit like Jack Nicholson in the film The Shining is a serious message. This cat is clearly upset and, for a reason that I don’t know, confined to a cage. It is likely that the cat is at a rescue centre where life is very difficult because it’s a strange place and it’s noisy. And, of course, the cats are confined to cages. This is all very difficult for a domestic cat which can affect their behaviour negatively. Understandably, the cat wants to get out. Jack Nicholson plays a character who has gone completely barmy. There is a similarity in the images which caught my eye. The cat looks more demented than Jack Nicholson who looks relatively normal when the image of him is placed next to that of the cat.
