Pictures of a cat-dog hybrid!

This is a cute Vietnamese puppy who’s been described as a cat-dog hybrid but with tongue in cheek because it is genetically impossible. However, his character, his derp face, stature and dense grey coat allows people to pretend that he is a cat-dog hybrid. It is a bit of fun. He certainly does look amazing and very unusual.

His coat density and color reminds me of the blue British Shorthair (see below). Someone said he looks like a cross between a Maine Coon and a Corgi. I can see that because the Maine Coon does have a strong, dog-like muzzle. And the corgi is a dwarf type dog.

In fact he is a H’mong dog. H’mong is an ethic minority group in Vietnam I am told. Or it is speculated that he is a cross between a H’mong and a corgi but the owners know the true background (see below).

His human caretakers are Hai Anh and Tuan. They named their puppy Dúi (“bamboo rat” in English). In an interview with Bored Panda, Hai Anh said:

He is a mix of a native dog breed and a short-legged dog called Dingo. But I think he might have a gene mutation too. I bought him in a mountain province in Vietnam. Like every puppy, he likes playing with both humans and dog friends. He is really sweet and funny!” The pictures don’t lie!
