Sometimes I like to select some nice cat pictures which I consider to be in the public domain and publish them on the site. There are some interesting cat pictures on the internet and there is a story behind them or they say something about the cat and our relationship with them.

Do you know why this website is called ‘picture of cats’? It is because when it started about 13 years ago the number one keyword for cats was ‘pictures of cats’. This means that when people were searching for information about cats they were searching for pictures of cats more than anything else. This propelled the site to the number one spot in the world for a while. I had to expand the site to cover other topics than pictures. The site is now about everything to do with every type, breed and species of cat but at the beginning it focused on the best pictures and the cat breeds.
