Pictures of Cats with a Message

Here are some very interesting and superbly executed pictures of cats (and some other stuff!), by Polish artist Pawel Kuczynski, which convey a message . They are published here with his permission. They are very thoughtful. You may have to think about the artwork for a while to figure out the message. In the meantime I’ll provide my interpretation which may be different to yours and also quite possibly wrong but it’s fun trying.

The picture above seems to be a comment on the status of animals. Pets get priority over livestock. The farm livestock is used to feed our pets. Is this right? You could go further because pets are fed to pets (euthanised unwanted pets are recycled as pet food). I don’t think Pawel realised that. This picture is about the endless debate about eating cat and dog meat and whether that is unethical when compared to livestock.

What is the message in the picture above? Well cats eat mice and therefore cats defecate the unwanted bits of mice. The alive mice are conducting a burial service and the eaten mouse’s remains are in the cat’s poo. For me this is about the dishonesty of governments/big business and how they use and abuse people while tricking them into believing something else. “Mushroom management” on a governmental, nationwide scale.

The above artwork is about the misfortune or good luck as to where you are born as a child and how a child interpretes the world a consequence.

Above: politicians spewing endless amounts of sh*t.

The Pawel Kuczynski artwork above nonplussed me at first . I couldn’t figure out the message and I am not sure I have it right. However, we have a mouse ridding a cat and therefore the cat is under the control of the mouse and the mouse is using another mouse as bait. The cat seems to represent the machine of government (as a predator). The people who run government abuse and use people to maintain the power of the government. Putin is the mouse on the cat’s back controlling government. The mouse on the end of the stick represents the abused masses.

Over to you 😉

Hi, I'm a 71-year-old retired solicitor (attorney in the US). Before qualifying I worked in many jobs including professional photography. I have a girlfriend, Michelle. I love nature, cats and all animals. I am concerned about their welfare.

  • Dead pets are not ground up into dog food, you fucking retard. No one in the first world eats dog or cat meat either except fringe freaks. It is actually totally fucking abnormal outside of chink countries.

    • Sorry but I think you are wrong. Cats euthanised at rescue centers in the USA and almost certainly elsewhere are used as sources of pet food ingredients sometimes. I don't know how prevalent it is but it does exist.

  • I really don't like the cat art, especially the first one where the cat has his bib on waiting for the farm animals to be slaughtered so he can eat.
A reality, yes, but it's not something that I appreciate visualizing.

    • I agree it is a bit harsh. But when it comes to politicians being portrayed as they are it looks fine. I think we need to be realists. That said I have always said there is a difference between domestic household animal companions and farm animals.

      • What would the differences be except that most people don't have farm animals inside their home?

Cows, pigs, sheep, horses, donkeys can be very affectionate and really aren't "dumb" as presumed.

I believe that they have more purpose than what humans use them for. If they were given the same affection, care, stimulation, and respect as any cat or dog, the results may be surprising.

I'm sure that I could live with a pig. In fact, I've lived with some human ones that were more disgusting than any mud rolling sow I ever saw.

I wish, so much, that I could develop a cat food as nutritionally sound and appealing as meat is.

  • The top picture is very powerful, that should be shared on facebook to get the message home that all animals are precious, not just some (though of course as we all know cats are the best). The second one makes me laugh.

  • Any art, be it satirical art as in this case is always interpreted from the mind of the viewer.Any portrait can have various meanings depending upon interpretation by different people viewing the same art. What does the smile on the "MONA LISA" in the Louvre convey ?Excellent Cat art work and as usual its always a "Cat & Mouse World" .
