When my cat’s sense of smell was temporarily unbalanced and masked by the strong smell of pine sap stuck to his paw, he became befuddled and confused.
He could no longer recognise his surroundings accurately which prevented him sitting on my lap.
He always sits on my lap but this time he simply walked away and he had a distinctly confused look on his face or through his demeanour and body language.
It confirms how important a cat’s sense of smell is to them in recognising their surroundings.
