It is the time to deal with a donation to a cat charity under this PoC scheme.
At end of September the total number of comments were 19,252. As at today, 1st November 2013, the number of comments is 20,471, making 1,219 comments for October.
My thanks to everyone who commented and contributed. I am very grateful. The number is a bit lower than last month (1,560), probably because Marc has not been available for a while!
At 5 cents per comment that makes $60.95 which can be rounded up to $61. In UK pounds (GBP) this is £38.
OK, the next thing to do is to work out which charity should receive it. What about Cats Protection Belfast who appear to be the branch of Cats Protection involved in the relocation of the Bangor seafront ferals?
I am open to suggestions regarding donations to an American cat charity. The third most important country for PoC is India, where $61 (USD) goes much further.
I haven’t investigated a suitable charity in India at the time of writing this but if people think India should receive it, I’ll do some work on that.
Just made the payment (£38) to Belfast Cats Protection. Here is the screen right after the payment was processed:
I’ll make the donation to the Belfast branch of Cats Protection today. Thanks for the input.
I’m sure they will be grateful! 🙂
A donation to any feral rescue would make my heart sing!
Bangor CP has my vote.
I agree Dee! Any cats that receive the donation would make me happy! Bangor cats get my vote as well 🙂
Yes a fantastic cause for the donation.
I must try and come more often too as it’s a far superior website to other cat ones I don’t know any others who give so much to cat charities.
I hope Marc comes back soon as well.
Yes, we want Marc back. I don’t think he has the time. We’ll see. Thanks Rose.
I think the Bangor CP is a great idea for this month’s donation as well, and many thanks mainly to you Michael for making it possible and to those who contribute regularly to raise the funds. I’ve been a bit lax this last month, never seemed to catch up but must pull my socks up and get commenting in November!
I think the Bangor feral cat rescuing is a wonderful idea Michael, the CP volunteers there must be desperately trying to raise enough funds to neuter all those cats.
Is Marc OK do you know? I left a message on his facebook page as I missed him being around here, but no reply.
Thanks for the input Ruth and thanks too, by the way, for being a wonderfully stalwart advocate of cats and supporter of PoC. I think the Bangor branch of CP is a good choice. Timely, and they are doing great work.
I think Marc had a couple of long stay visits from friends and he became too busy at work. That is my impression. I hope he comes back because just like you, I miss his comments and friendship. We’ll have to wait and see.
Thanks Michael, I will always stay loyal to PoC because it really is the best cat site on the internet!
