This website makes a donation every month to a cat charity. The amount is based upon the number of comments at $.05 per comment. March’s donation has been carried over and combined with April’s donation, which at $.05 per comment works out at around $250 (USD). The calculation is based upon 2,536 comments for April making $126 USD to add to $123 USD for March 2014.
Tina Lavelle, an American lady living in Rapid City, South Dakota, authored a post about her declawed cat whose name is Mollie Ann. Tina thought Mollie may be suffering from pain in her paws due to declaw surgery, which occured when she was a kitten – many years ago. X-rays were needed to ascertain whether there were bone fragments in Mollie’s paws. Tina couldn’t afford the veterinarian’s fee for the x-rays.
PoC stepped in to assist financially. This website donated, direct to Tina, US$200 for the x-rays to be carried out by a carefully selected veterinarian who would then liaise with Dr Kirsten Doub of the Utah branch Paw Project, a specialist veterinarian at cat declaw repair surgery and also a specialist at reading x-rays of damaged paws due to careless declaw surgery.
That is the background picture. I’m very pleased that this website has donated $200 to Tina and at the time of dictating this post, we are awaiting feedback from her about the results of the x-rays. It is early days and therefore we should be patient for the results and whether further surgery is required which will be ascertained by Dr. Doub.
I will, of course, keep everybody posted regarding updates, which naturally depends upon Tina’s ongoing input. My thanks to everyone for your support in this project. Best wishes to Tina and Mollie.
Here is evidence of the donation:
Perfect. Good going as usual Michael.
Thank you DW. Let’s hope it works out.
very pawsome!! God bless you for helping the kitties. . . Praying that all will be well with Mollie. . . <3
Thank you Ruth for bringing this case to Michael’s attention so Mollie can get the help she needs.
Thank you Michael and PoC for making it possible for Mollie to get her X-rays.
Thank you Cindy. Let’s hope this all works out right and Mollie is restored to good health if she has a problem with her paws.
Once again a wonderful act of kindness by POC, by Michael. This will make a huge difference to Mollie’s chance of getting help for her poor painful paws, I hope it can now all happen quickly and I hope Tina can keep us updated as to progress. A huge thank you Michael for your kindness to all cats.
What a wonderful gesture Michael! I hope Tina gets those Xrays done and to Kirsten quickly, it’s heart breaking to think of poor Mollie in pain, I hope and pray she can be helped.
What a difference in vets, the wonderful Paw Project vets repairing the damage done by the declawing vets who break their oath to cause no animal to suffer.
How can those vets keep on denying the suffering they cause?
How many cats are crippled by this cruel surgery?
It HAS to stop!
