Refusal to Eat and Weight Loss

My 4 year old Persian male refused to eat as of 2 days ago and has lost some weight. He was very playful, now he is very quiet and his movements are slow. This morning our vet said that his temperature is normal but gave him an injection of antibiotics. He has been on a dry diet but the vet recommends he be given wet, but he refused to eat.
Can anyone please advise me as to what to do. Thank you.

Admin: I am concerned about your Persian boy. My first reaction is that a change of diet is not the only answer and I am surprised if the vet simply suggested wet food as a solution as seems to be the case. He is quiet and slow, typical signs of a cat in distress (on the face of it). Of course it is very hard to diagnose at a distance. I hope someone steps in and emails you and/or comments and I wish this boy cat good luck.
In the meantime, if affordable, I would suggest a return to the vet or a visit to another vet and you might like to have a look at this page in the meantime:
Cat Illness Symtoms, which may provide some possible answers.
Thanks for the submission.
