I apologize in advance readers, but I’m about to blow a fuse over the YouTube cat rubber band videos that are finding their way onto the internet.
I had NOT planned on this being my next article. I tend to do my stories in order of importance and I felt this situation needed to be addressed immediately.
I caution everyone not to watch this unless you want to become highly upset or depressed.
This YouTube video features a kitten being tortured. There are many more to choose from of cats or kittens being tortured by having a rubber band put around their paws to bind the legs together. This can cause short term physical and mental trauma if the rubber bands are left on too long and even death or amputation.
The YouTube index makes sure to list similar videos to make it easier for the uploaders to see who is best at cat torture.
The video I’ve included here features a kitten immobilized by a rubber band around the paws. It’s thrashing around on the floor in obvious terror while we hear laughter in the background. When the kitten stops moving the tormentor’s nudge it to make it start crawling again.
I’m not an expert in voice analysis, but the laughter sounds like young people versus old.
I’m all for free speech and the right to post material to the internet. It’s not the video itself that’s sending me into a fury. It’s the thought of what these young people will do next and the pleasure they’re getting from torturing a poor defenseless animal.
Think about it. When rubber bands aren’t enough, what’s the next step up in cat torture? I hate to even think about it. After seeing several YouTube cat rubber band videos to choose from, I’m afraid to type in other forms of cat torture that come to mind.
Are these young people seeing who can post the most horrific video? Do they belong to some sort of club for young animal abusers?
My anger today is directed at society in whole. First at the ones who delight in posting these videos. Also at those who gets their perverted kicks out of watching them for entertainment.
Here’s the video entitled Hopping Kitty on YouTube.

Where are the parents? Are they aware they have future criminals living under their roof? Do they even CARE? I’ve done a lot of articles, not only for pictures-of-cats.org, but also for examiner.com where I write on domestic abuse. Animal abuse leads to bullying which leads to abusing those the abuser has a relationship with.
Do the readers here think the parents will “ground” their children or just have a little “talk,” meaning the problem will still exist. I know if these were my children they would lose computer privileges indefinitely. They don’t deserve the pleasure that comes from online relationships because what they give back to the world is anything BUT pleasure.
The most important article I’ve ever written was Kids Killing Cats. It showed that EVERY famous serial killer in the U.S. began by abusing animals.
I’d also like to know whether these cat rubber band abusers have learned this behavior from their parents or their peers or thought it up out of sheer boredom.
Will anything be done if these YouTube video abusers are identified? Will charges be filed or will the matter be swept under the rug because no one wants to think young people can be so cruel? I imagine if the case should ever go to court it would be hard to prove who was responsible. Even if someone confessed, being young unfortunately means little or no punishment.
My personal guess is everyone involved in the defense, and possibly the judge, will pass this behavior off as a harmless prank
I have only one thing to say to young people who enjoy tormenting animals. I hope you enjoy your life in prison, because you’ll get there eventually. I’d also like to warn you karma’s a BITCH! You will reap what you sow. Either in this lifetime or the next.
Here’s a YouTube video of a cat rescued after having rubber bands tied around the paws for approximately two weeks. It is also graphic. This cat is SAFE now. The kitten being tortured with the rubber band is who knows where and possibly being tormented as you read this.
Sorry readers, I’m still boiling. Here’s the video of the safe cat.

Thank you for rescuing and caring for this poor cat who didn’t deserve any of this.
Readers, I can’t wait to see your comments on this one. I personally believe in freedom of speech and the right to post on the internet. This falls into a different category entirely and there should be laws against this.
