A former employee of a Rhode Island animal care clinic and shelter, PAAWS RI stole 33 cats from the shelter. The shelter have made the police aware of the theft. It appears that the employee wanted to take revenge on the shelter for losing her job. Only the former employee knows where the cats are. They don’t know the condition of the cat either.
We are told that Warwick police say that a note was left behind explaining that the cats were taken to “relieve stress”. That’s all we know at the moment.
It is a very strange story and it is the first time that I have read about an employee stealing that number of cat from a shelter as an act of retaliation for losing her job. Of course, this is a crime. The crime of theft is actually quite serious because if the woman is convicted she will have a criminal conviction which illustrates her dishonesty. This will make it far more difficult to get a job in the future.

What a stupid thing to do. I hope the cats are alright. She should return the cats immediately, apologize and turn herself in, if she ever wants to work with animals again. On the other hand, there might be something to her brief explanation as to why she absconded with them. In any case she should document with photos and notes that she’s actually taking good care of them.
I agree. Praying that the are are OK!!!
