NEWS AND OPINION: Scarlet Blake had a cat microchip inserted in her chest and identified as a feline. A lot has been written about Scarlet Blake recently particularly by the Mail Online. A lot of rather ugly details have emerged.
She’s recently been found guilty at a UK criminal trial for her murder of a stranger, BMW worker Jorge Carreno. It said that she hit him over the head with a vodka bottle and then pushed him into the river. He drowned because it is claimed that he was drunk and she was drunk as well.
She is transgender. Male to female. She has claimed that she was encouraged to murder Mr Carreno by her American former partner Ashlynn Bell. I have argued that if it is true Ms Bell should be investigated by the police in America for aiding and abetting the murder of Mr Carreno. I wonder if that will ever happen?

As far as I know nobody else had thought it! In which case I have created a first which is unusual.
Identified as a cat and was microchipped!
And now, it has emerged that when she was interviewed by the police, after her arrest and before being charged and tried, she claimed to identify as a cat and also that she had been ‘chipped’ with a microchip from a cat.
The police got hold of a microchip scanner and checked and it’s true.
This is all the more remarkable because she brutally killed a cat (by stabbing the cat in the heart as I recall), skinned it and then put the carcass in a food blender. And she muttered while she did this that she wanted to do the same thing to a human. She also claims to like cats and that she didn’t want to be cruel to the cat but did it to please her ex-partner Ms Bell. She videoed all her cat cruelty along the lines of Luka Magnotta the notorius porno murderer and kitten killer.
Smiled when found guilty
She smiled apparently when a guilty verdict was read out. She had denied murder but had admitted to killing the cat. I presume that she chose the cat at random and as is often the case, the domestic cat outside wandering around is an incredibly vulnerable animal. Vulnerable to people like Blake and others who want to harm cats or simply kill them with poison. And there are those who want to steal them if they are attractive enough.

It’s a pretty wicked world sometimes although it isn’t all bad because at the other end of the spectrum there are great volunteers who work tirelessly to make the lives of feral cats a little bit better.
