These screw-on anti-scratch domestic cat boots look bizarre and cruel to be honest. They’re not meant to be worn for a long time which makes sense. They are meant to be put on when, for example, you take your cat to the veterinarian so the vet doesn’t get scratched or when you trim your cat’s claws. If you took your cat to the vet with these on he’d tell you off or worse. He’d call the RSCPA 🙂 .
Perhaps the concept is not a bad idea about if I’m perfectly honest they look horrendous. You have to clamp them on with a screw device. This could go wrong because you could over-screw it and hurt your cat. I don’t think a typical domestic cat would allow this to happen in any case. Certainly it would be almost impossible for the hind legs because cats are very sensitive to people fiddling around with their hind legs.
I think that a cat owner would have as much trouble putting these on as they would in trimming their cat’s claws. If I am right in that assessment they are of no benefit to the owner.
There are made in China and they’re very cheap. There’s free shipping to the United Kingdom via China ordinary post. They cost US $2.36. I believe that the Chinese can charge a low price because there are some special regulations regarding postage of small packages from China to the UK. This is a loophole in the postal service because it allows Chinese manufacturers to ship these items from their country and still undercut local suppliers.
I’m not sure whether they are available in America – probably not because of postage issues. This product has a 97.3% positive feedback! Perhaps they are used in China. I don’t see a market for them in the US or UK.
