Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, USA: These kittens were very lucky. They were living inside the hollowed out trunk of a 200-year-old dead oak tree. The tree was being cut down and when it fell it split open revealing the kittens inside.
If the tree had not split open these kittens would be dead now because the trunk would have been carried off to a brush site or they would have been buried alive.
The kittens are two-weeks-of-age and they will be ready for adoption in about two weeks. They are currently at the Eau Claire County Humane Association. If you would like to apply to adopt one, I’d recommend contacting them on their Facebook page. Use the FB message facility.
The kittens are very cute red tabbies and red tabby-and-whites. A good cat coat.
