OK so you don’t see cats wearing glasses as in the poster, but I was sitting at my computer writing when Babz commandeered me to wear it while she worked on it lol.
The striped edges to the ears didn’t look right, out came the black material and the sewing tin again.
The wig is taking shape now!

The costume is coming along nicely, some white bits needed on next to look more authentic and possibly white shoes instead of black or maybe white bits stuck on the black shoes?
The face paint has been tried for an allergy test, with no side effects. I’m to be entrusted to paint her face and whiskers on, oh dear, anyone any good tips?
We are behind schedule as this weekend we planned to begin on the puss-chair. Babz has great plans for that, she will cover it in cat material and stick Cats Protection posters and balloons etc on it, one thing for sure she will attract some attention tramping along the main roads on 31st May.
A friend suggested we let the local radio station know so passers by in cars give her and Julee a toot.
Babz is one very brave lady, she says she knows some people might think she’s barking (or meowing?) mad, but £230 in sponsor money so far shows how much support she has and some of the sponsors don’t even like cats!
It’s for a good cause anyway!
As there is only 10 days to go now I will leave the next installment here until after THE day. I hope to have lots of photos to share then with our lovely friends here as I’m going to see her off from her office and possibly go to the town later but I’m sure if I don’t get there someone will take some pics that end.
One funny episode, although we really shouldn’t have laughed, was yesterday. At the dress rehearsal Walter did a double take when he saw Babz but then he just looked at her again as if to say ‘What on earth are you supposed to be ?’ lol
But poor Jozef was absolutely terrified of her, even when she spoke to reassure him it was only her, he would have nothing to do with her. His little face was so dramatic we had to smother our giggles as we all know cats hate being laughed at.
He did forgive her for scaring him but she got a few black (and white) looks for the rest of the day. We felt so very guilty, she must have looked like a distorted giant cat to him.
How she’ll manage to get ready on the morning of the walk without him seeing her we haven’t fathomed out yet as both our boyz like to be around while we get ready for our day, their brushing of hair come before ours lol
THANK YOU again to everyone supporting us with donations and comments and good wishes, we appreciate it very much.
