Simon the Boat Cat

Simon
Simon was born a scraper, behind the Brockton V.A. Hospital in Brockton, MA. The cooks and security guards took care of the kittens until they could no longer so one of the security guards give him to us. I received him when he just turned five weeks old. My husband and I had to hand feed him.
Simon is now a pirate kitty. He has been living on a 47' yacht in Rhode Island for six years now. He has been by far, the best cat my husband and I have had. Simon weighs in at 20 lbs and is 15 inches at the withers. He is a four colored male calico. Both of us grew up in horse barns and farms so cats to us were just mouse and rat eaters.
Simon is strictly a boat cat, never leaving the yacht. When out on the bow, he will sit at the very edge of the yacht and meow at the fellow boats that sail by. He will also go out each morning and greet our neighbor. Simon will sit across from his boat and steer into his window which he sits at and waits for him to say "good morning Simon" back then he will go off and lay in on the back deck of the boat.
Simon is more like a dog than a cat. He is truly loyal to us, will accept or tolerate our friends depending on which one HE likes. Simon loves to box with my husband and will still nurse at my neck. He has imprinted my husband as one of the other kittens in his litter and I, his mom.
Simon is always with us even if we are in separate rooms. He will find a spot to lay down so he can keep his eye on both of us at the same time.
