The social media sharing community has been trying to get this sweet kitty reunited with his owner ever since he was found in Franklin, Kentucky back in mid-July. Someone out there has to know of a Michigan cat owner whose cat escaped when she stopped at a truck stop in Franklin.
A lady from Michigan made a stop at Flying J Truck Stop, Premier Trucking in mid-July. Her cat made a quick escape from her car and the lady wasn’t able to stay for an extended search. She left her information with the truck stop but it was thrown away after a couple of days. She did state for certain that she’s from Michigan and the owner also called before her cat was rescued. Since then, nothing.
The lost kitty was found around July 15, 2019 and it’s now been more than a month he’s been away from his owner. He’s neutered but not microchipped. Oh how much easier this would have been if he’d been chipped!
Several news stations have posted the story and he’s also posted on lost and found cat community pages. Local shelters have been notified the cat in case, just in case the owner calls them. According to Jill Goostree, who is caring for the cat,
“The happy ending for me and my husband would be to find the owner and the cat would be at his real home.”
Jill and her husband found the cat near the area of I-65 and Route 31. The cat is at least 430 miles from home and his owner could be from Metro Detroit all the way to the Upper Peninsula.
It’s going to take teamwork within the cat advocacy community to find the lady. The cat is at the very least This article needs to be shared with as many people as possible. You never know when someone will share from another state and THAT person will share and get the word out to someone in Michigan who knows this woman.
Since our cats are special, it’s likely the owner has told her friends and co-workers the sad story of losing her cat while she was traveling. WE CAN DO THIS! Let’s show the world the power of social media and get this cat home where he belongs.

Mike do we know if this cat was ever reunited with his owner? Just wondering.
We don’t know. It is rare that I can do a follow up. The info is just not there.
Thats okay. I think you’ll like this. The cat actually puts her paw on the dogs paw and looks at him. Real friends.
As much as I love cats, I will definitely keep an eye out for this beautiful black kitty!!
I have to re-read the notice so that I will be sure of what to look for, but I will definitely let other people know about the poor Kitty, as well!!
