Soon There Will Be New Facebook Sentiments to Add to the “Like” Button.

In the cat world cat, lovers frequently announce the passing of their beloved cat companion. Visitors, if they feel inclined to do so, can click the Facebook “Like” button. In clicking that button they are not saying that the like the passing of a loved cat. They are showing their support for the person and praising the post. However, the Like Button is limited and conveys the wrong message on occasions, which is why the social network has finally recognised this and announced that they are introducing new emotions to compliment the thumbs up “Like”.

Facebook Like Button

Until September 7th I will give 10 cents to an animal charity for every comment written by visitors. It is a way visitors can contribute to animal welfare without much effort and no financial cost. Please comment. It helps this website too which at heart is about cat welfare.

The Like button won’t be joined by a Dislike button but a range of alternative sentiments.

“You don’t want to go through the process of sharing some moment important to you in your day, and have someone down-vote it, said Mark Zuckerberg, the boss of Facebook.

Zuckerberg said:

“If you’re sharing something that’s sad, whether its something in current events, like the refugee crisis, that touches you or if a family member passed away, then it might not feel comfortable to like that post. But your friends want to be able to express that they understand and that they relate to you. I do think it is important to give people more options to emote and share their feelings on a post.”

Many users dislike the “Like” button. There will be no Dislike button however.

Please comment on Facebook to spread the word. Please click “Also post on Facebook”. Thanks:
