  1. Always cover exposed wires with the protective cord. Because I am gone all day all of my indoor electronics are connected to high grade power surge strips and turned off when I leave. The minor inconvience of waiting for everything in the house to boot up is minor compared to the possible consequences.
    Early training and I believe that verbal discouragement should be used for very few things. One is malingering by doors as we go in and out and the other has been playing with power cords.
    I never left kittens under the age of 6 months free range in my home.
