Super Snooper Cartoon Cat

Super Snooper Cartoon Cat

Super Snooper and his sidekick Blabber Mouse.

Super Snooper is a TV cartoon cat detective. He has an assistant called Blabber Mouse (a take on the phrase "blabber mouth" no doubt). They both wear matching trench coats!. The cat also wears a deerstalker cap while the mouse wears a fedora hat - neat. Together they run the Super Snooper Detective Agency. They have a secretary called Hazel.

Their mission is to tackle big city crime and as a diversion they like to play at ghost busting! They are anthropomorphised (did I spell that correctly?!), in that they both walk on two legs and the mouse is only half the size of the cat.

Super Snooper is a taciturn (inclined to silence; reserved in speech; reluctant to join in conversation) character. Some of their celebrated cases are:

  • Puss and Booty or Puss 'n Booty - Snooper and Blabber try to help the penniless heir Alowishus from his disinherited Butler and a man impersonating him.
  • Big Diaper Caper - Before Snooper can send Snagglepuss to the zoo, he escapes. Snooper and Blabber chase the lion through the city park.
  • Disappearing Inc. - this is a play on the title "Murder Inc."
  • Case of the Purloined Parrot - Snooper tells a story about a case, in which Captain Scuttle's parrot was snatched, since he knew where to find a lost treasure chest.
  • Person to Prison - 1961 (Finale) - Snooper and Blabber go to Sing Song prison disguised as convicts to prevent a jail break. Their attempt only gets them convicted.
  • Desperate Diamond Dimwits - Snooper and Blabber attempt to retrieve the large diamond stolen by the thief Lightfingers.

They are Hanna-Barbera characters. Hanna-Barbera were probably the most prolific and talented cartoon creators. This well known cat detective appeared in separate segments of the syndicated show "Quick Draw MacGraw that began in 1959 and lasted until 1962. In all there were 45 cartoons and Daws Butler provided the voices for both the cat and the mouse. Although Jerry Hausner voiced the mouse in some of the earlier cartoons. Michael Maltese wrote the stories.

Hi, I am 70-years-of-age at 2019. For 14 years before I retired at 57, I worked as a solicitor in general law specialising in family law. Before that I worked in a number of different jobs including professional photography. I have a longstanding girlfriend, Michelle. We like to walk in Richmond Park which is near my home because I love nature and the landscape (as well as cats and all animals).
