A Camp Fire survivor and her pet cat were reunited when the owner was escorted to her destroyed home and found her cat waiting among the rubble. The video will bring you to tears.
When Courtney Werblow returned to what remained of her parent’s burned home on Saturday, she was surprised to find her cat Timber waiting for her.
Courtney can be heard saying over and over:
“You made it! You made it! It’s okay baby. We are right here. We are here for you!”
As Timber comes close and feeds, a buck passes by in the burnt out landscape. It’s almost as if he’s saying “My work here is done kitty. You’re back with your family.” – Carol (commenter on the video).
Timber is a special cat, having gotten her after Courtney and her husband Mark married and became pregnant with their second child. The property they were renting at the time didn’t allow pets so Timber was living with Courtney’s parents.
Courtney wrote in a Facebook post:
“NEVER LOOSE HOPE! One month today since the fire, we received an escort to my parents’ property & my cat Timber was discovered!! She’s alive. Praise God!!”
At this time, Courtney is also sharing more photos of Timber and her reunion with her family on her Facebook page.
Now the entire family is looking for a permanent home where Timber will be welcome. A GoFundMe web page has been set up to help the family.
According to the GoFundMe, Courtney and the kids left with a little bag, the clothes on their backs and a small dog, Mark was unable to make it back up to them from work to help them evacuate and they were unable to find their cat Timber.
Timber’s story is one of many where survivors of the Camp Fire have returned home to find a pet waiting for them.

This is very interesting, I like it. I will always come to visit after. I will recommend to friends too. Keep up the magnificent work. I think this is engaging and eye-opening material. Thank you so much for caring about your content and your readers.
On the other hand; after all Timber had been through all she got was a pan of dry carbo-crack sprayed with fake flavoring. And her owner couldn’t take one step toward her, making her trudge through even more wreckage for it. Oh the love…
Any pet that can determine where their home used to be, go back to it and wait (and hope) for their owner to return amazes me completely. And yes, brings me to tears.
🙂
Thanks Michael,ye got my water works going :O) but i am so happy they are back together.
