I’m going to anthropomorphise this cat. He or she is using the bathroom just like a human. No doubt she has just washed her hands and face in the sink and now is checking up on her appearance and is about to put on make up! The big question, though, hangover this photograph is whether cats are self-aware. Does she recognise her face in the mirror or does she see another cat? My research tells me that she is not self-aware and does not recognise herself in the mirror. She would be bemused by the image in the mirror and try and search for that other cat!
