UPDATE May 2, 2018 ADOPTED! I’ll be writing an update Thursday night.

This is the face of heartbreak. Once this sad-eyed kitty becomes available at a North Carolina shelter, he may only have a few days to find a home before being killed. People are upset, to say the least. We can help by sharing his story.

This is Hercules, a male turned in as a stray and posted April 27 to the Facebook page for Rowan County Animal Shelter in Salisbury. Since he’s a stray, the shelter must give his owner time to claim him. If not, Hercules will go up for adoption May 2. He can be killed anytime after May 4.

Yes, Michael! I think his expression has touched many. The woman from MD, Lisa, filled out the application form first thing this morning and now is just waiting approval. There are others showing interest as well. I hope Lisa is approved. She’s been the first willing to save his life. And, drive a distance to do so! ???

What a very sad story. I’m sure that there are many other cats with a similar story to tell. What a very sad story. And cats do have expressions as evidenced by Hercules.
