The man who tried to put his cat through airport X-ray machine

This is the man who tried to put his cat through an airport security X-ray machine. You know how you have to put certain things in a tray and place the tray on a conveyor belt that passes through the X-ray machine. Well, he did it to his cat….until the airport security and passengers people screamed and stopped him! Everyone (except him) freaked out. He is still laughing….see picture below.

Although animals should never go through X-ray machines at airports, they would not cause harm, apparently, because of the low dosage. Although all X-rays are potentially dangerous.

The interesting aspect of this cat story is that the uproar from security staff and passengers was immense, more than for dangerous security issues. This is good isn’t it? It indicates a deep concern for animal welfare. Or is it something else?

The cat was stored in a regular bag and not a cat carrier. When the time came to put his bits and pieces such as laptop computer on the tray he put his cat on it with the other stuff. Extraordinary. You’d never do that in a million years. There is no reason for it. There is no reason to X-ray your cat at airport security. Come on sir! That was stupid. And you were not to know that it would not hurt your cat. Is this attempted animal cruelty? No I don’t think so but it is pretty close to a crime.

    • Sounds like a good idea. Why he thought he had to put his cat through the x-ray is unfathomable. There was not need to even consider it.

  1. If I saw him trying to do this, I would grab the cat and then pummel the man for being so stupid and apparently insensitive.

  2. I wouldn’t be so upset if I felt that he was just ignorant and uninformed. But, the fact that he was laughing, tells me a whole lot about his caretaking.

  3. People do pretty stupid things. At least the cat wasn’t harmed, but I doubt if that was the concern of the officials. When faced with a highly unusual situation, many people will “react” in fear by screaming or shouting. Passengers and security officials may have different motives for their reactions.
