The tiny cow that weighs the same as a domestic cat

Lil’ Bill, the tiny cow, is about a tenth the size of a calf his age. He is healthy but very small.

I have joined two pictures together to compare the seizes.

He’s actually the size of a large domestic cat in the photo and was born weighing 4.5 kg or about 10 pounds. That’s the weight of an average domestic cat.

The Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, wrote on their Facebook page:

“Occasionally, we get a case that has us scratching our heads a bit. Lil’ Bill is one of those cases! He was born weighing a little over one-tenth of what newborn calves typically weigh.”

It will be interesting to see if he thrives. I hope his progress is reported.

He might have an anomalous form of dwarfism going on.

I hope he makes it and can develop with good health.
