Three flavors of Rad Cat Raw Diet® pet foods are being voluntarily recalled from 48 U.S. states and Western Canada because they might be contaminated with Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes, posing a health hazard to humans and pets. Lab tests confirmed Salmonella and/or Listeria monocytogenes in samples of the cat food from Radagast Pet Food Inc.
I don’t know how significant this warning is. It is probably not that important because not many people feed their cats a raw diet. However, there is no harm is passing on the word. Hence this very short post.
The recall covers four lot codes: 62384, 62361, 62416 and 62372. Specific best-by dates in 2017.

The more I read and learn, the more I just want to boil chicken and broil fish for my cats. It’s cheaper anyway.
I feed my cat Rad Cat and Feed This (locally made). Fortunately, I only give her the venison flavor. But still, it’s a reality that any commercial food can be subject this this. I’m reading more and more about human food being recalled because of Listeria and Salmonella concerns, especially packaged produce.
Unfortunately, we can’t depend on our food, water or air to be safe, and that’s pretty scary. These reflect the times we live in, and the need to live “defensively”. No one’s really looking out for us, or our pets.
