Here is a neat, natural way to kill moths and protect clothes without using mothballs which are highly toxic to domestic cats. Mothballs kill cats. These tiny (1mm or less), almost invisible wasps called Trichogramma don’t sting or do anything nasty but they gradually eliminate moths from the wardrobe or pantry by killing moth eggs.

Trichogramma kill the eggs of moths by laying their eggs inside the much larger eggs of the moth. The Trichogramma egg hatches into a larvae which feeds on the insides of the moth egg killing it. It’s nature’s way and it is effective judging by Amazon comments.

Yes, you can by these tiny wasps in the form of their eggs online, which hatch and then go to work killing moth eggs.

The beauty of the process is that it is natural. There is no need for poisonous insecticides, nasty mothballs or other chemicals.

Years ago Elisa, an author on PoC, wrote about her cats being killed by mothballs. And in September of 2017 I wrote about a man who admitted to killing eight from eleven colony cats with mothballs. He pleaded guilty to 6 counts of animal cruelty.

Mothballs are a known poison for cats like antifreeze so they are a definite no-no in households were there are domestic cats.

Try these wasps instead. Get some from Amazon. $11.25 buys enough to control about 500 square feet. They get a 3.5 rating out of 5. The general consensus from reviewers (which look genuine) is that they work but with patience.

The important thing is they are safe for cats. The last thing one wants to do as a cat guardian is the worst thing: accidentally kill your cat.
