This is a good cat news story from Russia. You can read more about it if you click the link above the picture just above this text.

A cat living in an apartment I believe tried to get out through the window which was partially open. The window operates horizontally leaving a wedge-shaped opening.

The cat became trapped in that wedge as he slid down towards the narrow part.

The cat was trapped for about an hour and passers-by were concerned quite naturally.

Somebody called the emergency services who failed to turn up.

This prompted these two guys to take charge of the situation themselves.

They borrowed some scaffolding from over the road on a building site.

They constructed a platform and one of them climbed it.

This guy used a scaffolding pole to push the cat up the wedge-shaped opening of the window, which released the cat who jumped inside his apartment.

Nice work because it is both intelligent and committed.
