Urgent: Please can someone help these dumpster cats near Washington, Georgia?

Please do a great favor and share this post. It would be wonderful if we could save these vulnerable cats.

Catherine Miller, a friend on Facebook, has told me about her ‘dumpster cats’. They are living next to a road where there are three dumpsters and a large, fallen oak tree. I have the exact location on Google Maps. They are about 9 miles from Washington, Georgia, USA. The area is very dangerous for cats without a home because of the local predators: coyotes, dogs, hawks, etc. This part of Georgia has a very large coyote/stray dog problem to the point that the entire state has an ongoing cull.

I DON’T WANT TO DISCLOSE THE EXACT LOCATION PUBLICLY IN CASE A CAT HATER DECIDES TO HURT THEM. IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE LEAVE A FACEBOOK COMMENT BELOW AND WE CAN GO FROM THERE.

These cats need help

Catherine tells me that there are two adults and three or four youths living at this dumpster. She is not sure whether there might be some more. Both Catherine and a fellow cat lady go to this place and keep an eye on the cats. She takes a gallon of water and cleans out the food bowl that she leaves for them regularly.

Three organisations are aware of the situation but they have limited funds and therefore Catherine is asking for help from the wider cat rescue community on Facebook. If at all possible, I’m sure that she would likeby these cats taken in by a rescue organisation, their health checked and if necessary treated and a home found for them if appropriate.

The map on this page shows precisely were these desperately needy cats are situated. I’m writing this article to see if I can find somebody who is in a position geographically and financially to help them. To save them.

If not, could you please spread the word the see if we can pull together and save these lives because they are bound to live very short and unpleasant lives where they are.

Earlier

Earlier, Catherine was heavily involved in rescuing three other kittens who had been dumped at the same place. Through her efforts and the efforts of others they were rescued and veterinary treatment was found for them by Stray Cat Outreach. There is a fundraising page which needs support to pay the $1000 bill. The fundraising needs to be reactivated. Can you help there as well?

  1. Thank you so very much for posting this article. The strays and I greatly appreciate all of your help. Another concern is the high volume of predators in the area: coyotes, stray dogs, hawks, etc.

I love your website and am thrilled that you are willing to help. Thank you again!
