This is the happy ending story of a Payson, Utah kitten who ran out of the house one morning and ended up taking a road trip that spanned 15 hours while underneath his owner’s car.
Milo took a very long ride (screenshot)Jessica Mosher spent the day searching for Milo, even posting to a lost and found group on Facebook in a desperate plea for help. Friends had told her it’s ‘just a cat’ but Jessica refused to give up.
Eventually, Jessica was able to put together how Milo spent the day traveling underneath her vehicle. She stated what she believes happened during an interview with Fox13 News
“Apparently he climbed up underneath my car, drove with me to Spanish Fork to drop my daughter off at daycare , drove with me to Orem at my work, stayed under my car the whole time. I don’t know how he stayed on because I wasn’t driving particularly safe either. “
Milo decided to change vehicles while at The Corner Bakery Cafe in Orem. Joy Bylsma clicked her key fob for her vehicle and was surprised when a kitten came out from underneath her car when she finished her shift. It was around 11 p.m. so Joy took Milo home with her for the night, not knowing this was Jessica’s lost cat.
Joy’s husband had seen the post on Facebook about Milo and tried to make contact with Jessica around midnight. When no one answered the phone Joy sent her a text telling her she had the elusive kitty.
Jessica was hysterical when she called Joy and thought she was lying about having Milo. The pieces fell into place when the two women started comparing their whereabouts for the day.
Jessica thinks Milo lost at least three of his nine lives. She’ll be keeping a close watch over him at home to ensure he doesn’t take any more road trips.
