WARNING: DON’T WATCH THIS BLOODY GHASTLY HORROR VIDEO FROM RUSSIA: I’m doing this story again today, in January 2021, because it needs highlighting as the video is still online and it should be removed and it makes me bloody sick to the stomach. If it has been removed then the published version of it below would stop working and if that is the case I will be enormously relieved and pleased. I have not watched it but I have read descriptions of it. It’s a story really of drug and alcohol abuse leading to a loss of control and animal abuse. How many times does this happen in various countries? A hell of a lot. Far more than we want to think about. There appears to be a human substance abuse crisis. Something is fundamentally wrong.

- NOTE 2: THE REASON WHY I HAVE WRITTEN THE PAGE IS BECAUSE I WANT THE WOMAN PROSCECUTED AND CONVICTED. IF SHE HAS BEEN CONVICTED PLEASE TELL ME IN A COMMENT.
The video is on a Russian website, rt.com. The publication date is 31 October 2017. The woman lives or lived in Moscow with a tabby cat. The woman bit the cat’s tail and smashed him against a wall. Thomas cries in distress and she shouts at him. All the time she filmed it and uploaded the film to the Internet. Absolutely horrendous. Her name is Svetlana Daraselia we are told. Her cat was four months old at the time and his name is Thomas.
There were calls for her to be prosecuted to the fullest extent. The video went viral at the time. A friend of the woman alerted animal rights activists who rescued the kitten. The woman claims that she was unable to control her impulses.
It all kicked off when Thomas apparently damaged her expensive curtains which were a gift from her friend who had bought them from America. The woman claims that they cost $25,000. The activists who rescued the cat described the woman as aggressive and violent. When they collected the kitten she threatened to kill everyone and was swearing. Her aunt brought the kitten to the door. The kitten was crying and screaming.
A veterinarian said that Thomas was concussed and was suffering from multiple haematomas. His belly was badly bruised. The report of October 2017 said that Thomas was staying in an animal hospital for several days. A new home was being found for him. There were calls for the strictest possible punishment of this aggressive woman.
The police were investigating. So what happened? As I said, the information above comes from 2017. Well, I tried to find out without success. I confess I didn’t try very hard because I know I’m not going to be successful. These sorts of stories fizzle out very quickly. There is uproar after a video goes viral. Then things go quiet. The police brew up a cup of tea, sit down and think about it for a while. Then after several weeks nothing has happened so if they have opened a file it is quickly closed and put away for shredding. That is the way of the world. Believe me it’s true.
How many animal cruelty cases end up in court where the perpetrator is successfully prosecuted and sent to jail? I’m gonna guess that out of 10,000 cases of animal abuse on the planet in a 24 hour time period, one, yes, one single case might end up in court where the person is convicted. Of course, in certain countries prosecutions are more likely to take place. Great Britain is pretty good on this but even in Britain domestic animal abuse like this often goes unpunished. Frankly it’s depressing.
One great problem is that a lot of abuse takes place behind closed doors. If this ghastly woman had not been so arrogant as to film it and publish it online she would have got away with it scot free. Nobody would have known. It was only her madness in filming it and publishing it which gave her away. Ridiculous.
