What does dilute urine mean in cats? — 2 Comments

  1. So interesting Michael. Before Paka died, after we added a medication after her next to last echo, she was periodically urinating inappropriately. We cleaned up with Nature’s Miracle for cat odors but I was surprised that there was really no odor when it happened. Cat urine is usually highly putrid. I am now thinking perhaps that was the start of the kidney failure which juxtaposed with her HCM became a catch-22 to treat and culminated in us losing her. These seemingly unrelated events come together too late to have done anything about it….too late to have realized it should have been pointed out to her cardiologist.

    • I think you are right. With acute kidney failure liquids pass through the non-functioning kidney so it is no longer waste material and therefore does not smell of ammonia. Hope you are keeping well.
